Token of Faith

Have you ever received a token?

A token of affection? A token that is near and dear to your heart? Maybe you received a token that was for bus fare, or,  have them saved from not being able to play all the fun games at Chuck E. Cheese, like myself lol. But have you ever received a token so valuable, that you kept it? Forever?

Maybe you answered no that question like I did. I know that I do have some tokens laying around somewhere, but we as believers do possess a special token: The Token of Faith.

I can imagine that some of you are thinking, “How is it that I have already received a token?”, and that others are thinking, “A token? Really, T? What does that have to do with faith?”. Trust me, I asked Holy Spirit the same questions and received a revelation that blew me away.

The definition of token has different meanings attached to it, however, I am going to focus on this specific definition of token as described by good friend, Google: “A voucher that can be exchanged for goods or services, typically one given as a gift or offered as part a promotional offer”.

Sounds like a good setup, right?! So… what does this have to do with faith?

Well… Holy Spirit took me on a journey a few weeks ago. He lead me to read Hebrews 6:13-18 (AMP), which says,

13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, He swore [an oath] by Himself, since He had no one greater by whom to swear, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.” 15 And so, having patiently waited, he realized the promise [in the miraculous birth of Isaac, as a pledge of what was to come from God]. 16 Indeed men swear [an oath] by [d]one greater than themselves, and with them [in all disputes] the oath serves as confirmation [of what has been said] and is an end of the dispute. 17 In the same way God, in His desire to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable nature of His purpose, intervened and guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us.”

He kept leading me to this particular scripture almost every other week. Being lead back this scripture at least two times always indicates to me that God wants me to dive deeper than just normal study time with Him and His Word.

So, I asked Holy Spirit, “What does this mean?”. All I kept reading into was about faith. But, what was it about faith, within itself, should I be aware of and work into my daily life?

Holy Spirit responded and said, “It is a token of faith”. Much like some of you, I was like, “Huh? A token of faith? What does that mean?”. Then, He lead me to that particular definition of token as provided by Google and it completely made sense.

When God looked at Abraham’s faith, He made an exchange with Abraham. God exchanged himself, his very word, and made an oath. This token, His Oath/Word, became Abraham’s voucher because of Abraham’s faith in God.

Abraham could use the voucher at anytime in exchange for services and goods. Abraham was promised by God that his Seed would expand and the lineage, leading up to Jesus, and beyond would be exceedingly above what he could ever imagine.

And all of this was done just by Abraham’s faith.

Faith was not only designed to take our eyes off of our issues and situations and trust God, but it was also designed to grab our attention and have an exchange with God. God wants to provide us SO many services: Wealth, joy, peace, abundance, prosperity, kindness, perseverance, truth, understanding, wisdom, and so much more! However, we have to be willing to make that exchange to get to those things by instilling our faith in Him.

Have you ever seen someone try to get on the bus without a token? It’s just not happening 99% of the time. Either you have your token and you get to ride, or, you don’t have your token and you get off. Clearly, it is a black and white situation.

Same way with God!

Either you have your faith and He will put His Word to work in your life, or, you are stuck in your current destination until you obtain faith in Him.

The great thing about obtaining your token/faith, it that you do not have to obtain it multiple times. You only have to get one token; one fare to get a ride onto your destination.

God wants to promote you! His promotional offers continuously go on and on; they never end! He wants to encourage you to continue on the path He has planned for you.

He is just waiting on you to get your token. He is waiting to have that exchange with you so you can receive the gifts of the Promise. He never wanted you to be token-less; He always wanted you and still desires for you to obtain the gifts that He has waiting for you.

So, I encourage you… step up and get your token! It’s time for you to make your exchange <3.

Hope this helped!

With love,

Love,

T.
